According to the DEA, a chemical dispensing system can save up to 99.9 percent of waste packaging, compared to ready-to-use (RTU) product. Dispensing systems also help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by requiring less fuel to ship chemicals in concentrate form rather than heavy RTU products. Automatic dilution prevents chemical overuse or underuse, reducing waste and the risk of potentially hazardous chemicals being dumped into sanitary sewers.

Finding the Right Dispenser

Selecting the proper dispenser is key for several reasons, because:

  • The appropriate system guarantees the correct dilution. Proper dilution results in better cleaning performance, so it’s important to find the system that meets all of your needs. For optimal cleaning results, choose a system that ensures accurate dilution regardless of water pressure.
  • Different systems are designed for different cleaning needs. Dispensing systems can have varying uses and features. Some dispense one or two chemicals, while others dispense up to 10. A dispenser may feature water pressure regulation while another specializes in foaming and spraying capabilities. Take into account the size of your facility, installation space and range of cleaning needs to help narrow down which dispenser fits your cleaning requirements.

Depending on the condition of the water on-site, the filter in a dispensing system will require regular cleaning so that particles in the water line don’t reach the water valve and disrupt dilution. Over time, metering tips and tubing wear down and will need replacement in order to maintain proper dispensing functions.
